On this role you will be responsible for the procurement of commodity vegetables, food ingredients, and packaging supplies. The position will also be responsible for developing sourcing strategies to achieve lowest imaginable cost while meeting our quality and service business objectives. This position will manage vendor relationships, inventory levels, and material movement in a fresh, Just In Time environment. Also builds and optimizes supplier relationships to deliver overall business value and quality driven supply chain with a continuous improvement mindset. Must be detail oriented and extremely organized, with ability to multi-task and manage multiple suppliers and projects at the same time.

This position will report directly into the Supply Chain Manager

Main Responsibilities:

• Supports sourcing strategies that support and enable company’s quality, cost, delivery, innovation, and business growth objectives.
• Achieves lowest imaginable costs through strong negotiation, alternate source development, specification optimization and creative solutions;
• Coordinates fresh vegetable deliveries to coincide with production plans.
• Supports raw material and packaging needs of co-packers.
• Identifies and leads productivity initiatives for continuous improvement.
• Keeps informed of market conditions / trends and presents recommendations to manage business implications;
• Assists Quality on non-conformance issues through root cause analysis and corrective action plan development for issue resolution;
• Efficiently and effectively works cross-functionally to deliver overall business growth goals & objectives;
• Ensures all raw materials are purchased in accordance with company policies and procedures;
• Support contingency plans to manage risk and to ensure business continuity.
• Ensure compliance with SQF protocols within area of responsibility.
• Tracks KPI’s and reports to department.
• Supports RFQ Process.

You have:

• 1-3 years’ experience as a Procurement Professional, preferably in the Food Industry;
• ERP knowledge
• Strong ability to effectively analyze and present complex information.
• Project management skills
• Associates Degree, preferably in supply chain, business or related field OR 3 years of equivalent business experience in related fields.
